Get ready for glamping

Off Glamping

Full steam ahead for our next glamping holiday.  This will be our fourth Glamping trip and having visited Cornwall and Shropshire we are heading to the Lakes this year for some hill walking and relaxing (http://www.featherdown.co.uk).

Lottie has baked some cup cakes and I have made a Bara Brith (see recipes) to take (if it survives!).  One of the things we most enjoy is cooking over a camp fire - it always amazes me how quickly it all cooks.  Still trying to persuade George (in full teenage mode today) to make her speciality Lemon Drizzle Cake but not looking too good so far.

Fingers crossed for some sunshine even if we don't get to take a lemon cake ;)

One step at a time..

We have now been in Frog Hollow for around four months and at times it feels like we are making absolutely no progress at all.  It is like living with small children when day to day you might not notice the changes but a visitor is amazed at how your toddler has grown.

Having lived with 'battleship blue' walls all over the house (I mean everywhere) for a few months we caved and decided to do a temporary fix decorate - just to stop ourselves from going insane.  Today is the last day for the decorator and although we have only had some rooms decorated it has made SUCH a difference.

Ok so the kitchen is a tad more YELLOW than we thought it was going to be....sunny to say the least...but it is better than blue.

The previous owners took their range cooker and we left a fitted kitchen behind so my clever hubby built a work top out of spare wood as another temporary fix - think he might build the whole kitchen next time (although perhaps need to check that with him?)

Lottie wanted to keep the light (!) but as the wiring down had water inside (really) we could not (shame...).

YELLOW (I am actually growing to quite like it)
